Expert Profile: Allie Ball – Blog

This month, we connected with Allie Ball, an expert known for her friendly nature and adventurous spirit. Allie enjoys many activities including outdoor and indoor climbing, hiking and mountain biking. She is well-versed in all things trail-related and is certified in 118 brands on ExpertVoice since joining in 2018. Check out our interview with her on her hobbies, advice and favorite brands.

Let’s start off simple, where are you from?

I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio, where I discovered my immense love for the outdoors. I began rock climbing at our local gym where I ended up meeting more like-minded people who loved being outside and living an active lifestyle.

What do you do for a living?

I am an Account Executive at ExpertVoice. I get to work with well-known brands in the outdoor and naturals industries. I help them strategize their program on ExpertVoice to create more advocates on behalf of their brand. I absolutely love it, and the people I work alongside are pretty great, too.

Do you have a favorite local trail that you visit often, and where has been your favorite place to hike?

We currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah, where we are blessed with so many trails to explore within 10-15 minutes of our home. Trail running and mountain biking with my two dogs have been our favorite hobbies lately. A few of my favorites are Pipeline in Millcreek Canyon, Neffs Canyon and the Bonneville Shoreline trail above the foothills. These are all pretty close to home and easy to access. They’re easily accessible trails for hikers, runners or bikers of any level, making them a great option. As for my favorite, that’s a TOUGH one… but if I had to pick a favorite I would say the Sawtooths in Stanley, Idaho; it’s a very special place for me. The landscape is incredible and the little town is so cute. This spot should be at the top of everyone’s list for a visit during the summer months.

What are your favorite brands on ExpertVoice you use to fuel your adventures?

I love that, as experts, we have access to so many amazing brands on ExpertVoice that help me get outside! My favorite on-the-go snacks for skiing or hiking are:

  • Honey Stinger Waffles: These are amazing for quick, easily accessible nutrition. They’re also great for the airport, too.
  • SOS Hydration Powder: These keep me hydrated during the hot days, no matter which hobby I’m doing. The mango flavor is my favorite!
  • Icelantic Maiden 101 Skis: I also have a deep love for skiing and get out as much as I can during the winter months – my Iclantic skis are my go-to setup for both resort skiing touring.
Allie’s Picks: Honey Stinger Waffles, SOS Lifestyle Hydration Powder, and Icelantic Maiden 101 skis.
