Behind the Scenes of your FYI Account






If you are an influencer or creator reading this and you do not have a Find Your Influence (FYI) account or you haven’t been active on your account, here is your sign to change that. The FYI platform is going to be your best friend if you are a creator of any size or at any skill level. Here we pull back the curtain to reveal the inner workings of your FYI profile to ensure you are set up for success.

Your Influencer Profile is How Brands Find You

We have a dedicated team that manually reviews all new creators and aligns them with relevant categories (ex. Beauty, Lifestyle, Gaming, Fitness, etc.). This part is always exciting because the team gets to see every person who has signed up for the platform.

Once our team has reviewed the creator account, the account is officially ready to go and is available for all brands to see. Remember those categories? The more information you put on your FYI account, the more likely you are to be seen by brands when they are filtering through our community of creators. Not only do brands see you, but FYI Influencer Managers also search the platform when selecting creators to recommend to brands. This is a refined system that FYI has been perfecting since 2013 and it has proven to be a simple solution for brands to execute wildly successful paid and/or exchange campaigns.

Influencer Payments Simplified

Now let’s chat about some of your first steps when your account is set up. You want to get paid right? You’re going to want to go to your Account Settings and download a blank W-9 and then re-upload it in the same spot once you have completed the form. Also, within your Account Settings you are going to select your payment preference. This gives our accounting team everything they need to process payments to you. FYI pays creators for completed campaigns via e-checks or PayPal.  There is no need to send invoices when you are working with FYI.

Final Account Step

Finally, you need to go to your profile and add in your shipping address and phone number. Make sure to keep this address updated as this is what the brand (and FYI Team) will reference ahead of sending required product to you for use in your campaign. Once all of this is done, you are ready to start receiving offers.

Most Common Question from Influencers

One question we tend to get a lot is “How do I sign up for campaigns?”. You will have to be invited to sign up for a campaign (which brings us back to filling out all your information and connecting all your relevant accounts).

Once you are invited to a campaign, you will see the offer on your dashboard tab and it will specify whether it is a paid campaign or an exchange campaign. You can click in to see the full campaign details to get a better understanding of the ask and the terms before accepting (or declining). Please remember, every campaign that comes through, whether paid or exchange, once you click “Accept” you are signing a contract stating that you will follow through with the campaign and adhere to the timeline. Every person on a campaign matters and contributes to the results. Please don’t take it lightly. We value you, your time, and content and want to ensure we all work together to succeed.

Survey Says

The last tip for ensuring you get in front of brands is to fill out ANY surveys that come your way. Typically surveys are sent when a brand is looking for someone a little more niche. Completing surveys allows you to reveal yourself to the brand and you are essentially submitting yourself for consideration for a campaign. We filter through these results and manually select creators to invite based on your responses. Filling out surveys gives you a much better chance at being selected to participate in a campaign.
